Chicken DNA Sexing and Gene Tests
Find out which of your chicks are pullets and which are cockerels, and which birds carry the genes you are breeding for, from a few drops of dried blood. Register your birds online, pay as you go, mail the samples in a regular envelope, and read the results in your own private account. Results are usually released within 24 hours of your samples arriving.

How it works
- Create a free account.
- Register your birds, one line per bird, with the Bird ID you choose.
- Pay online at the end of the form.
- Collect a dried blood spot from each bird and mail them in one envelope.
- Get an email when results are released and view them in My Batches.
Private by design
Your birds, your batches and your results are visible only to you when you are logged in. There are no barcodes, kits or prepaid credits to keep track of. You choose each bird’s ID, write it on the bag, and we report the result against that same ID.
Gene tests, same sample
DNA sex testing is available now, and you can add chicken gene tests to any bird on the same blood spot:
- Lavender gene: $14 per bird
- Recessive white gene: $14 per bird
- Frizzle gene: $12 per bird
- Blue egg gene: $12 per bird
Tick the tests you want on each bird’s line when you register. See Pricing for what each test reports.
